Founded on April 12, 1946, our Club celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016.Founded on April 12, 1946, our Club celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016.Seventy years of existence in the torments that have known and continue to know our races, it is not nothing and our Club must be today one of the rare associations related to the races which subsists in its original form and it constitutes practically The last international representation of the Belgian turf. The founders had set themselves the goal of establishing links of sporting fellowship and courtesy between the amateurs who had climbed up and raced. It was also a matter of passing over and over again to new enthusiasts the love of horses and the pleasure of racing, of maintaining and defending a certain number of amateur races.Amateurs have always provided the ranks of volunteers that the institution of racing needs. Even today there is a beautiful and strong representation of our family in the instances of the Jockey Club and the Belgian Federation of Horse Racing.Several of our members are also the race stewards appointed for the Mons, Ostend and Waregem racecourse companies. If amateurs still have the chance - and it is indeed a chance and not a due - to be able to participate in real races in Belgium, as well as professional jockeys, it is well Thanks to the constant action of the members of the Club Committee to the Jockey Club and the Race Companies. It is comforting to note that despite the reduced context of the galloping races in Belgium (± 30 days of racing and ± 170 races per year), the amateur races have not disappeared. Although their number has obviously decreased in proportion to the total number of gallop races contested, the average number of starters per race has remained in the order of 10 for several years.
